Philip (29) revels in a life without responsibilities - musc, alcohol, and One-Night-Stands determine his daily rhythm. His lifestyle is challenged when his estranged son, Max (9), returns after the passing of his mother. Afraid to fail as a father, he drives Max to his aunt's place - his new home. On the way, Max confronts Philip's negligence until a long withheld truth provikes hope for an overdue bond.

Meanwhile, Charlie (26), a physical therapist-in-training, takes on her widowed mother (53), once a model, as her primary patient. Threatening to pull the plug on her only friend, the TV, Charlie forces her obese and willfully homebound mother on a trip into nature. What she hopes to be a refreshing venture becomes overwhelmingly suffocating for both of them.

While confronted with familial conflicts, Charlie and Philip meet in a hallway they share as neighbors. Their opposing personalities influence them to reevaluate the responsibility they have toward their family and themselves.
